KYC stands for Know Your Customer — a standard identity verification process used to ensure that the person signing a document is who they claim to be.
At swipesign, KYC is required to:
- protect the integrity of electronic signatures,
- comply with legal and regulatory requirements,
- ensure that all signed documents are legally valid and verifiable.
Depending on the signature level (AES or QES), the KYC process may include:
- uploading a valid ID document,
- a short live video check,
- or using an existing trusted eID (e.g. ID Austria, eIDAS ID, etc.).
The process typically takes only a few minutes and helps ensure that signatures created with swipesign are secure, trusted, and legally binding — even across borders.
